Whalen Law Office Welcomes Summer Law Clerk Alyssa Zayat
Whalen Law Office is pleased to welcome Alyssa Zayat as the firm’s Summer Law Clerk.
Alyssa brings a strong foundation of academic achievement, leadership, and community service as she prepares to begin her second year of law school this fall at Southern Methodist University (SMU).
She graduated summa cum laude from Concordia University Irvine with a bachelor’s degree in History and Political Thought and a minor in Law and Politics. During her undergraduate career, Alyssa was a collegiate tennis player and served as team captain, demonstrating leadership both on and off the court.
Before beginning law school, Alyssa spent her gap year serving as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer, advocating for children involved in the legal system. That experience reinforced her commitment to public service and provided valuable insight into the impact of legal advocacy on individuals and families.
Throughout the summer, Alyssa will work alongside the attorneys and staff at Whalen Law Office, gaining practical experience in criminal defense and observing the collaborative preparation, legal research, and strategic case analysis that support the firm’s representation of clients in state and federal matters across Texas.
Outside of her legal studies, Alyssa enjoys working out and spending time outdoors on walks.
Whalen Law Office is proud to support the professional development of future attorneys through meaningful hands-on learning opportunities. The firm welcomes Alyssa to the team and looks forward to supporting her continued growth throughout the summer.
