Successful Defense of Client Charged with Aggravated Robbery

Attorney James Whalen recently obtained a great result for a client who was charged with Aggravated Robbery that occurred in McKinney, Texas.  The client chose to waive his right to a jury trial and tried his case to the Honorable Ben Smith, Judge of the 380th District Court, Collin County, Texas.  The client, due to a prior conviction, was facing a minimum of 15 years  to Life in prison.  The court, after hearing the evidence, acquitted the client of the aggravated robbery and found him guilty of assault, a misdemeanor.  The court sentenced him to the “time served” in the county jail.  Needless to say, the client was extremely overjoyed with the outcome.
