Whalen Law Office is pleased to share that Partner James P. Whalen attended the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) 2025 White Collar Seminar & Fall Board Meeting in Washington, D.C. (Sept. 17–20, Washington Marriott Georgetown). Beyond the approximately 10.5 hours of CLE (including ethics), the seminar created a high-level forum to collaborate with defense colleagues, policy voices, and members of the judiciary on current enforcement priorities and trial advocacy. Sessions explored contract-fraud/False Claims Act exposure, lessons from recent trials, strategies for cross-examining cooperators and government summary witnesses, the ethical use of AI, developments in clemency/compassionate release, and practice insights from a federal judges’ panel; the program also featured a keynote by Pierre Thomas, Senior Justice Correspondent at ABC News.
By engaging directly with practitioners handling complex federal matters across the country, we refine our approach to investigations, motion practice, and courtroom strategy—and bring those practical, real-time insights back to our clients.
