Biography

Andrew Stover grew up in Southeast Texas surrounded by a family deeply ingrained in the legal world. Both his father and brother served as State District Judges in Texas, with his father extending his service to the Court of Appeals. This upbringing instilled in Andrew a profound respect for the law and its profound impact on society. He went on to graduate with a Juris Doctor (JD) from St. Mary’s School of Law in San Antonio, TX, in 1987, further solidifying his commitment to the legal profession.
Raised in the lush surroundings of the Big Thicket, Andrew developed a passion for the great outdoors. He cherished moments camping, fishing, horseback riding, and tearing through the woods on his dirt bike.
His academic journey led him to the University of Texas at Austin, where he not only delved into his studies but also soaked in the vibrant campus life and the eclectic music scene of Austin. Later, he pursued law school in San Antonio, immersing himself in the city’s rich cultural offerings.
It was during his time in law school that Andrew’s interest in criminal law and procedure grew. Motivated by a deep-seated desire for fair and equal justice, he dedicated himself to a career in this field. With over 34 years of experience in criminal law, Andrew has served in various roles, including as an Assistant District Attorney for the Dallas County District Attorneys’ Office, an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas, and an Assistant United States Attorney for the Department of Justice.
Throughout his professional journey, Andrew has accumulated invaluable knowledge and expertise, which he now uses in his work as a criminal defense attorney. His commitment to the principles of justice drives him to provide thorough and effective representation to his clients.
